Livestreamed because even when I managed to get it exported from the program, I still couldn’t manage how to upload it to the internet.

Ullrich is a Berlin artist that juxtaposed kinetic sport pictures and relaxed sculpture images together.

That work seems to constantly challenge yet work together. The activeness of the athletes challenges the relaxed pose of the sculpture to become more kinetic when originally it is not meant to serve an active purpose. The same thing can be said vice versa.

My Personal Blog

Sorry I Haven’t Posted

A blog by Cory Archangel inspired by the random bloggings of bloggers who post messages about not blogging for a while.  These posts cover the comical to the near depressing posts about what keeps these bloggers from blogging.

King Candy gif

CLICK on the image above to take you to my blog:

I made a number of gifs featuring King Candy (Wreck It Ralph © Disney), the Mad Hatter (1951 Alice in Wonderland © Disney), and of various other characters. With the intent to show my work process in a traditional sense of using a pencil on paper, I edited the effects on the King Candy gifs to give an older, black and white feel similar to the atmosphere of old Walt Disney documentaries on animation.

A custom-made dating site is accused of “scraping” 1 million faces from Facebook. Artists Paolo Cirio and Alessandro Ludovico experimented on identity theft and basically claimed social sites are a joke. Social sites and advertisers are only about making money, we have been lured into their sites to basically become a pawn thinking we are making relationships, but really the sites are just about making money.

“ASCII (ask’-ee) stands for “American Standard Code for Information Interchange.” This standard was developed by the American National Standards Institute. It’s basically a table of numbers and their corresponding symbols. We all know that the only things computers send back and forth to each other are zeros and ones. Using ASCII as a standard, a computer can send a series of zeros and ones in a certain order and the other computer will know that it signifies a certain letter of the alphabet. ASCII covers letters, numbers, and certain control codes. It doesn’t cover graphics. Essentially, ASCII artwork denotes artwork that is created without using graphics at all. Its palette is limited to the symbols and characters that you have available to you on your computer keyboard. It started back in the old days of computers. Most computers didn’t even display graphics. So, people got creative with text and ASCII Artwork was born! Some say ASCII art is dead, but if it were, this site wouldn’t receive over 30,000 visits per week.”

Chris has a collection of work from various ASCII artists such as Susie Oviatt, Rowan Crawford, Allen Mullen, and Joan Stark.  It’s amazing how just by using different letters and numbers, they could create depth in their otherwise two-dimensional work.  MMMMMM IIIIIII 000000

“A visual novel (ビジュアルノベル bijuaru noberu?) is a work of interactive fiction, featuring mostly static graphics, most often using anime-style art or occasionally live-action stills (and sometimes video footage).[1] As the name might suggest, they resemble mixed-media novels or tableau vivant stage plays. They are analogous to a digitized version of a Choose Your Own Adventure novel.”

Examples:

I enjoy these games and most of them are available for both PC and Mac.  Some are free, some come with a cost but offer a free demo.  Personally I hope to make one or a couple of visual novels myself, right now I am working on a visual novel collaboration between myself and two others online.  Using our original characters we are role-playing together to create an original dialogue and storyline.  It will not be as ambitious as Cinders, but it’s the first time I will be doing a project like this.
My project is a collaborative effort between myself and two other people, my first video depicting the work OHSHC Livestream sessions.
